For the past few weeks i’ve been an artist in residence at my friend Josh Fox’s (http://www.gaslandthemovie.com/) property on the PA/NY border. I’m doing a fundraiser to cover expenses of my residency and my upcoming continuation wherein i will fly to San Diego to ride with Kyle Durrie (http://type-truck.com/) in her letterpress truck for 10 days.
I am offering 3 unique recordings and 3 Letterpressed poetry postcards.
Songs will be one new ROS tune, one fresh version of an old one, and one cover song, sent via email… at least one, if not all, will include Josh
Postcards will be short poetry pieces of mine hand set in type, printed in a truck in the southwest by Kyle and I, and mailed to you via the usps.
To sign up for my 3×3 project, please make a donation below in the range of $20-$50 via paypal and BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR ADDRESS so i can send you the postcards!
We have two shows coming up in Portland before i head east for the summer. I won’t be touring, but i might try to do a solo gig in missouri and maybe new york as well.
anyway, the first is this sunday at EM Space (407 SE Ivon) it’s a kickoff party for my lady friends mobile print studio called Moveable Type. This is a fairly relaxed event… bbq, beers, prints for sale… we play around 7:30 but the event is from 5-9.
We’ll also be playing on June 14th at the Alberta Rose Theatre with Samantha Crain and The Fed. These are some of my favorite people and it will be our last show until August so we hope to see you there!
I have always embraced the idea that this band can change and grow and it always has, however, a lot of the information out there that talks about who is actually in the band just isn’t correct anymore. in the last 7 months, Dan Galucki, Perry Pfister and myself have toured a little more than 12 weeks together. We also recently had our long time Trumpeter John Whaley, join us for 2+ weeks of touring and our newest addition, Justin Fowler (of Wooden Indian Burial Ground) played electric guitar with us for a few weeks as well. While many of our old friends and bandmates still join us on occasion (as they will when we celebrate my birthday with a show at the Woods in Portland next Thursday Apr. 7th) this 5 piece is the core of Run On Sentence.
I just wanted to take the time to give them credit for all of their hard work and badassery.

I make a lot of recordings. They are usually quite different than what you get when you buy a Run On Sentence album. They may be recordings of me just playing guitar and singing, there may be 14 layers of vocals two organs and a drum, i might rock out on my midi guitar and make some silliness, i might play a song i’ve crafted, i may make one up as i go, i may cover someone else’s tune, and i might even cover one of my own… it’s hard to say really. The point is that i make them, and i’d like to share some of them with you.
That’s why i’ve decided to start a CSM. It stands for Community Supported Music.
For a donation of $10 – $25 you will receive, via email, 12-20 MP3 recordings in 2011. One a month guaranteed, plus 8 others mixed in if i get 40 or more people to support the project.
If you are interested in supporting this project simply click this button
In the “purpose” field, type CSM plus the email address you would like your music sent to and make your donation. If you’d prefer, you can also send a check, payable to Dustin Hamman, to:
Dustin Hamman
6 Lyle-Snowden Rd.
Lyle, WA 98635
Most, importantly, it would greatly improve the success of this project if you could help spread the word with anyone you think might be interested. You could even sign someone up as a holiday gift!
Still not convinced? Here’s my rendition of the Holiday Classic, I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas as a sample of the joy you could receive throughout the year.
Thanks for your support,
-dustin hamman
*Please remember that these recordings are for the curious. They are made by dustin hamman and are not intended to be judged alongside the more “finished” works of Run On Sentence.
Recently, we went into the studios at OPB as a 6 piece and recorded a few songs (both video and audio). The audio program aired last Saturday night on In House with Jeremy Petersen and will air again at 9:00 on Sunday 8/8.
